The Disabuse project has been inspired by the work of Fiona Weldon (MA). She is a trainer at the National Anti-Bullying Research and Resource Centre working with intellectual disabilities and bullying, offering workshops to help dealing with the issue of disablist bullying. Fiona has worked with the National Disability Authority and was an advocacy officer at the National Institute for Intellectual Disability at Trinity College Dublin. She has extensive experience and expertise in the disability area.

Marian McDonnell (IADT) and Lian McGuire (ABC, DCU) continue to represent DisAbuse at the World Anti-Bullying Forum in Dublin, Ireland, including speaking with the new European Parliament Coordinator for Children’s Rights, Anna Maria Corazza Bildt . Anna Maria is the European Parliament Coordinator for children’s rights. She is the spokesperson for the entire European Parliament, ensuring the promotion, respect and safeguarding of children´s rights in all European Parliament policies and legislation and that the best interests of children are always fully respected in EU legislation and non-legislative initiatives of the Parliament
